This incredibly detailed drawing was completed with Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor premier pencils on white card. The original photo was taken and referenced with permission from Australian photographer Richie Southerton. Helen’s attention to detail is key here, with each individual spine and hair drawn in to give this unique animal justice. These prints are reproduced with the finest quality inks and professional processing to ensure that they show every pencil stroke and mark like the original artwork. Echidna’s are a monotreme mammal, meaning that they not only have a basic form of milk supply for their young, but also lay eggs. These unique features are shared by only one other class of animal, also found in Australia: the platypus.

This piece is available as limited number (25) prints, printed on archival quality eco friendly Hahnemuhle Bamboo card.
