This incredibly detailed drawing was completed with Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor premier pencils on 11”x16” white card. The original photo was taken and referenced with permission from Australian photographer Richie Southerton. These prints are reproduced with the finest quality inks and professional processing to ensure that they show every pencil stroke and mark like the original artwork. Helen’s high level of attention and detailing in the tawny’s feathers perfectly shows how well this bird camouflages in its Australian habitat. Found in a range of Australian habitats such as woodland, alpine, rainforest margins and even parks suburban gardens, it spends much of its time still and sleeping during the day. It is nocturnal, and due to this fact and its size it is often mistaken as an owl. This would be a perfect addition to any wildlife lover’s collection.
