Also known as the green tree monitor, (Varanus prasinus), these cousins of the komodo dragon are primarily arboreal. Growing to roughly 1m long, they are primarily found in New Guinea, but also found on a few islands of the Torres Strait and Australia’s Cape York Peninsula. Despite this habitat range, late discovery of this habitat location means that it is still illegal to privately own an emerald tree monitor in Australia. Drawn in custom, this was a fun piece to create. Panpastels were used to create the soft lighting in the background with various coloured pencils used for the monitor and tree branch.

This piece is available as limited number (15) prints, printed on archival quality eco friendly Hahnemuhle Bamboo card. Each print comes hand signed and numbered, with it’s own unique Certificate of Authenticity. Print size without frame is approximately 8"x11" (A4).
