This little marsupial was drawn freehand with Faber Castell Polychromos and Prismacolor premier pencils on 8”x11” white card, cropped to 8”x8”. Dunnarts are a small nocturnal marsupial of Australia of the genus Sminthopsis and roughly the size of a mouse. Easily mistaken as a mouse on first glance, these little marsupials are in fact closer in relation to quolls and only found in Australia. This individual is the fat-tailed dunnart (Sminthopsis crassicaudata), found as a desert variety (drawn here) as well as a coastal one which has more grey coat.

These prints are professionally processed and reproduced on textured cotton paper with archival inkjet to ensure that they show every pencil stroke and mark like the original artwork.
